Why I Run

Why I Run

There are plenty of reasons to run. Lots of people started running in high school (or earlier) as part of a team. A few (a very select few) are good enough to run as a career. Many people start later in life as a way to try to get in better shape.

The real reason I started running was because it was a way to stay in shape -- it was easy to do, didn't cost anything, you didn't need to find a field to work out at. Running was something everyone knows how to do, and something that requires minimal investment (both in planning and in time). If I wanted to go running, I could just walk out my front door. The simple accessibility of running was immediately appealing.

But while the simplicity of running made it appealing to me, it would likely not have been enough to keep me committed.
